Leinster Leader photographer Jimmy Fullam is planning to host a charity night out at Toughers Ballroom this Friday night.
The event is in aid of St Luke’s Hospital in Dublin, and will feature adult dancing from 9.30pm to 12.30pm. There will be music by Declan Aungier and a good night out is promised.
Jimmy is a well-known figure around the county, especially in Newbridge, Kildare town and Monasterevin, for his years covering events for the Leinster Leader.
He is currently in training for a fundraising walk in Rio de Janeiro in Brazil in aid of St Luke’s.
The walk will take place from October 20 to November 1 next, and all money raised at next Friday’s charity night will go towards Jimmy’s fundraising target.
The 10-day walk is being organised by the Friends of St Luke’s and the money will go towards cancer treatment at the hospital.
Jimmy is a veteran of charity walks in years gone by, but it’s been a few years since he’s laced up the hiking boots in a good cause.
He has been shedding a few pounds for the walk with the assistance of Sasta Fitness, based at the Ladytown business park in Naas. He has managed to lose both weight and body fat, but says he wants to drop a few more pounds to 14 stone before he jets off to South America.
Those who would like to back our snapper in his fundraising efforts are welcome to Toughers this Friday. Admission is available on the door at €8
