Model launches chic Kildare festival month

Rock royalty model Daisy Lowe was at Kildare Village last Thursday, July 5, to launch details of its ‘Chic Summer’ festival programme.

Lowe is the daughter of designer and indie band frontwoman Pearl Lowe and Bush lead singer Gavin Rossdale, and stepdaughter of Supergrass drummer Danny Goffey.

The 23-year-old budding actress has also modelled for Chanel, Marc Jacobs and Louis Vuitton.

The ‘Chic Summer’ festival will run until Sunday, July 29 at the designer retail outlet on the outskirts of Kildare town.

Some of the free attractions of the festival include genealogy sessions on Friday afternoons and a Good Food Ireland pop-up village.

Next weekend there will be swing dancing performances on Friday and Saturday afternoons, followed by performances from the Irish Chamber Orchestra on the weekend of 20 - 22 July.

The final weekend will feature DJ and Saxophonist duo Donald & Donald.

The festival also includes some musical performances in St Brigid’s Cathedral in Kildare Town.

The Harp Concerto performed there last Saturday night as part of the festival.

On 28 July members of Dublin Gospel Choir will perform in the same venue.

The concerts are in aid of Kildare Tidy Towns Association and St Conleth’s Day Care Centre.
