Irish Champions Weekend race day at the Curragh this weekend will feature top action on the track, but there’s also a massive prize fund for the best dressed lady off it.
In fact, there’s an impressive array of prizes worth €25,000 on offer for the most elegantly dressed ladies at the Champions Weekend racing fixtures in Leopardstown next Saturday and the Curragh on Sunday.
Actress Victoria Smurfit will be jetting in from Los Angeles to act as the Irish Champions Weekend Style Ambassador.
County Kildare Failte tourism ambassador Yvonne Keating (see interview, left) and Maria McGovern of Kildare Village will judge the best dressed lady winner at the Curragh on Sunday at the Palmerstown House Estate Irish St Ledger Day.
The winner will receive a shopping spree at Kildare Village worth €3,000.
She will also get the chance to throw the party of a lifetime at Palmerstown House Estate.
The prize will see the winner and 19 guests enjoy a light lunch with cocktails on arrival, dinner with a glass of champagne and overnight accommodation at the Johnstown venue.
There is also a separate ladies’ day prize on offer at Leopardstown on Saturday, including a €5,000 Louise Kennedy shopping spree and a stay at the Powerscourt Hotel.
The five fashion finalists from each day’s style competition will be entered into a draw to drive away in a brand new Jaguar XF. The winner will drive home in a new Jaguar XF which will be theirs for one year. The draw will take place after the feature race at the Curragh on Sunday,
Pre-registration for the competitions is not required as spotters will be out and about at both racecourses over the weekend.
