Busy lifestyle, unfit, no motivation, is that you? An outdoor boot camp specifically designed for women and mothers is starting in Naas this month. Called Forget the Gym, its open air workout can work wonders.

“It’s difficult to fit exercise into our very busy lifestyles, and it’s even harder if you are a beginner to exercise,” explains organiser Mary Jennings.

Starting in Naas this month, Forget The Gym aims to kickstart, motivate and build confidence in women to exercise “no matter how unfit you feel you are,” jokes Mary.

There are beginner running classes, “suitable for women who feel they can’t run,” explains Mary and mother and baby buggy fit classes where new mums can “have fun, meet other mums and exercise while enjoying the fresh air”.

Forget The Gym’s buggy class is something new to Kildare. “Mothers of young children have very little time to focus on themselves. They are juggling family, jobs, school runs and so on. Their own health is likely to suffer as they focus all their energy of everyone else but themselves.

“Our BuggyFit Class aims to make exercise easily accessible and fun for the mums. Importantly it aims to be hassle free as they bring their baby along too and there no need to pay for childminding!”

“Outdoor exercise is also fantastic for any mother who is experiencing anxiety, tiredness or postnatal depression.”

“Having worked with many mums on an individual basis, it became aparent to us that working with a group was more fun, social and beneficial for everyone.

“Most mums will make time to meet in coffee shops, we encourage the mums to meet in the park, exercise, feel energised and then go for the cuppa.”

In this current economic climate it is great to see a company thriving and expanding. “The reason we are growing as a business is that we focus on the individual.”

All Forget the Gym classes will take place outdoors in Naas and the price is E90 for eight weeks. For full details and registration, visit www.ForgetTheGym.ie or call Mary on 086 2391987. Classes commence on the week of the 4th April.
