Derby Ball to raise funds for Autism

This year’s black-tie Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby Ball will raise money for Irish Autism Action.

The E125-a-head evening will take place at The K Club in Straffan on Saturday, June 25 - the Saturday night of the three-day Derby Festival.

boyzone’s Keith Duffy, one of the driving forces behind the charity which assists the families of children with autism, launched the Ball at the Curragh Racecourse recently, along with Kill model Pippa O’Connor.

RTE’s Tracy Piggott will be master of ceremonies for the evening, which will include entertainment from Brat Pack and a fundraising auction and raffle.

Jockeys Lester Piggott and Michael Kinane will both be honoured during the evening for their outstanding achievements on the Curragh track during the Derby, which included five wins for Piggott, including one on the great Shergar in 1981 and two for Michael Kinane with Galileo (2002) and High Chaparral (2003).
