The final countdown to the Kildare Rose 2013

The Kildare Rose Gala selection night will take place at the Osprey Hotel this Saturday night, April 27. The winner will go on to contest the Rose of Tralee semi-finals in Portlaoise on the June Bank Holiday weekend.

The Kildare Rose Gala selection night will take place at the Osprey Hotel this Saturday night, April 27. The winner will go on to contest the Rose of Tralee semi-finals in Portlaoise on the June Bank Holiday weekend.

The evening starts at 8pm. Entertainment will be by Eoghan and the Boys, featuring Kelly Bermingham. Ollie Turner will compere the evening. Tickets at E20 for adults and E10 for children are available form Caroline Hutchinson at 087 2418266.

The chosen charity for this year’s Kildare Rose is KARE, which provides a great service for people with intellectual disabilities throughout Kildare, East Offaly and West Wicklow.

“We will do our best to raise money and we have agreed with KARE that something tangible will be bought with the funds so we can actually see Kare benefitting from our efforts, said organiser Caroline Hutchinson.

Some fantastic fundraising prizes will be on offer during a prize draw at the selection night.

They include:

1) The Grand Hotel, Swansea, Wales, has sponsored two nights B&B, with dinner one night with a bottle of wine in their sister restaurant, “La Dolce Vita”. Sail & Rail with Stena Link, Rosslare - Fishguard.

2) Guineas Spring Racing Festival at the Curragh Racecourse on 26th May. Ladies Day featuring the Etihad Airways Irish 1,000 Guineas. 2 day member admission tickets with Tapas Lunch in the O’Briens Champagne + Wine Bar. 1 night B&B Keadeen Hotel.

3) 1 night B&B at The KClub.

4) The Dublin Visitor Centre, part of The Dualway Group based in Rathcoole, sponsored 4 tickets for a Day Tour of Wicklow worth €25 each and 4 family tickets in the City Sightseeing Dublin Tour worth €36 each.
