Congratulations to everyone in Ballyshannon National School as we have just recieved our second Green Schools Flag. A big thank you to the Green Schools Committee of - Megan Morgan, Michael Clifford Collins, Emma Behan, Evan Swan, Colette Keon, Cian Talbot, Eva Calderwood and Daniel O’Connell.
KCEB and Vita Studios have been helping 5th and 6th class pupils with their mini business project. The children are in the process of learning and practicing songs for a CD which they will record, process and sell. All proceeds will go to Ballyshannon National School.
Thank you to Sabina Reddy, Dental Nurse, who gave a talk to each class on dental care.
We are looking forward to taking part in our ‘Litter Buster Mural Arts Project’. We will have a workshop with an Anti Litter Message. After the workshop and artist will help the children paint a mural on our school wall.
Congratulations to Ballyshannon National School who have been awarded a grant to replace a classroom and learning support room.
S.K.A.R.I. - Active Retirement
That means South Kildare Active Retirement Ireland. The next meeting will be in Moone hall at 8.00 o’clock on next Thursday may 31st - voting day. Mai Quaid, the new National President will attend. May is from Baltinglass and she was proposed for the position by south Kildare.
The association covers all the villages in South Kildare from Calverstown right down to Moone. Meetings alternate monthly between Narraghmore and Moone. And are on the last Thursday of the month.
This will be a final opportunity to book for the 5 day outing to Clare and the West, this year’s summer holiday.
Crochta na Gréine le Chéile Foroige club,Suncroft meet every Friday evening in Suncroft school. It caters for young people from 12 years to 18.
The aim of the club is to bring young people together in a fun environment and encourage them to become active in their own community. They welcome new members.
Jonathan Mulhall Trust Fund
The Jonathan Mulhall Trust will be holding a field day next Sunday 2nd June starting from 11am. Events on the day will be Vintage cars show, Pony Ride, Archery , and many more.
Newtown Rovers will be hosting 2 underage Games that day too with opposition to be announced soon.
That night there will be a Barn Dance and tickets will cost €5 and can be bought in Conlan’s pub.All Support Welcome.
Suncroft National School
Suncroft National School are open for enrolments and have a limited number of places available. Enrolment forms can be obtained from the school by ringing 045 441041 or calling to the school during office hours 9.00 a.m. to 12.00”
Suncroft Soccer Club
Training takes place every tuesday and thursday evenings at 7pm in Community Grounds, Suncroft and new members welcome. Membership fee is set at €50 payable before season starts.
