St. Mochua Historical Society

St. Mochua Historical Society had a most enjoyable trip to Arigna and King House, Co. Roscommon on Saturday June 9. Forty three members and friends travelled and were most fortunate that the day was warm and sunny.

The second trip of the Summer is on Saturday July 7. The group will travel to Dublin to visit Kilmainham Gaol and Farmleigh House. Cost for bus and entrance to Kilmainham will be fifteen euro. Please phone Carmel on 087 6779785 if you would like to join.

Gaelic training for mothers, ladies over 18 continues every Friday at 6.15 pm in St Kevin’s clubhouse.

Milltown GFC Mid-Summer Draw

Want to win €2000?: The club’s annual Mid-Summer Private Members Draw will take place in the Milltown Inn on Saturday July 14. There are nine prizes on offer in total which is great value for a €20 ticket.

This is the club’s major fundraiser and we look forward to the usual great support from club members and the wider community. Tickets are available from any committee member.

Well done lads

The Milltown seniors had a great win over Kilcullen (3-9 to 1-11) in the league last weekend, getting another two points to help in the relegation battle. Well done to Alan Andy and the team.

Underage

Milltown’s u7 and u8 team made the short trip to Sarsfields last Saturday morning with both teams performing very well against our neighbours.

Cul Camp

Parents can now log onto kelloggsculcamps.gaa.ie to register on-line for the 2012 Cul Camp in Milltown GFC. €5 discount available when using code from Kellogg’s cereal packets. The camp is running on Tuesday 7 – Friday 10 August. No camp on Bank Holiday Monday.

Club History

Milltown GFC is compiling an “Emigrant’s Corner” for the yearbook. If you have a family member living on foreign shores, why not let us know so we can include a small piece on their new life.

Mr and Mrs a huge success

A special thanks to Mark McCarthy and crew who organised what was a huge success in the recent Allenwood GFC club night of our very own Mr and Mrs.

Allenwood Underage

Well done to the u11s who had a great win over Balyna last week. Congratulations to the Allenwood school teams of U10s and U13s on reaching the parish cup finals.

Senior Football League Div. 2 Fixture: Away to Eadestown on this Wednesday at 7.30 p.m. Away to Straffan on Sunday next, June 24 at 3 pm. Senior Football league Div. 5 North. Fixtures: Home to Johnstownbridge Tuesday, June 19 at 7.30 pm. Home to Raheens on Friday next, June 22. at 7.30 pm.

Robertstown Underage Committee

The Annual Perpetual Tournament for Underage Teams will be held on Sunday next, June 24, from 11 am. Under 8s, Under 10s, Under 12s from four clubs will take part. Each Child taking part will receive a medal and the winning Under 10 and Under 12 Team will receive a perpetual cup.

Barbecue Food served all day with light refreshments and cool drinks. Admission €4 per car.

Robertstown GFC Cul Camp

Coill Dubh Hurling Cúl Camp

Coill Dubh Hurling Club will be hosting their annual Cúl Camp on the week of July 16 to 20. The camp is a hurling and camogie camp and is open to boys and girls aged 6 to 13.
