Historical Society Edenderry Historical Society will hold their next meeting in the Parish Centre, Edenderry on Friday, 20th April at 7.30 pm. The meeting will be followed by a lecture at 8pm. by Rob Goodbody, ‘The Quakers in Ireland’.  All are welcome. Edenderry Historical Society are holding their Annual Outing to The Cavan Crystal Hotel, Cavan from Friday, 4th May to Sunday, 7th May. All are welcome. Dancing

Sunday Night Dancing will take place at the Hamlet Court Hotel, Johnstownbridge every Sunday night starting at 9.30pm. Admission is €10.00. All the proceeds are in aid of Balyna Area Active Retirement Association.

Confirmation & First Communion

The Sacrament of Confirmation will take place at St. Mary’s Church on Saturday, 28th April.

Two Dates for First Communion:

First Communion for Scoil Bhridt and Gaelscoil will take place on Saturday, 19th May.

First Communion for the Boys National School and St. Mary’s Girls Primary Schools will take place on Saturday, 26th May.

‘Aslan’ in Carbury

The music of ‘Aslan’ can be heard when they play at Carbury GAA on Saturday, 21st April. Tickets cost €15 and can be purchased from the Clubhouse or any committee member.

Edenderry winners

Courses

Men’s Support Service seeks Ladies!

Are you planning to participate in the Flora Mini Marathon in Dublin this year? Amen Support Services Ltd. are looking for volunteers to run, walk or crawl in the Ladies Flora Mini-Marathon on June 4th in Dublin to raise much needed funds to provide services for male victims of domestic abuse. Edenderry Comhaltas are holding a Table Quiz in O’Donoghue’s Lounge on Thusday, 26th April at 9pm.

Sponsored Walk

The Edenderry Lourdes Fund Committee are holding a Sponsored Walk on Sunday, 15th April commencing at the Town Hall at 12.30pm.

Adrian Brereton of Operation Transformation will lead the walkers on the trip.

Sponsorship Cards are now available from the Lourdes Fund Committee.

New Writers Group

The New Writers Group hold meetings at Edenderry Library on the first and second Wednesday of every month from 11.30am – 1pm. For further details please contact 085-7054673. Everyone is welcome.

Scouts & Cubs Group

The Edenderry Scouts and Cubs Groups are currently looking for Boys and Girls to join. The age group for the Cubs is 9 – 11 years and the Scouts is 12 – 15 years.

The Groups meet on a weekly basis at the Parish Centre. The times are; Cubs 6.30pm – 7.30pm; Scouts 7.45pm – 9pm. For further information please contact 085-7052517.

NCBI Appeal

The National Council for the Blind of Ireland are making an appeal to Women to take part in this year’s Mini Marathon which takes place on Monday, 4th June to raise funds for a great cause.

Participants will receive a N.C.B.I. T-Shirt and Sun Visor.
