Following their trial last week, Milltown GFC junior’s James Byrne and Brandon Heavey have made the County Development Squad at Under 14 level. This is a great honour for the lads, their parents and families, and the club in general. It also highlights the great work being done at underage level by their mentors. We wish the two lads well and hopefully we see them wear the white jersey with pride in the years to come. Also, a word of commiseration to Kevin Byrne who was also in the running for the final squad until a thumb injury at exactly the wrong time wrecked his chances. We have no doubt that Kevin will bounce back soon. Milltown GFC Karaoke Night: The players have decided to hold a Karaoke/X-Factor fundraiser for the players’ training fund on Sat 28 April in the Milltown Inn. Contact any player for tickets. Following last week’s rumours, the senior players have confirmed that they are singing “When I’m 64” by The Beatles. Not long to go now, lads! Parents of underage players-keep this date free!: The Cúl Camp is scheduled for Tuesday 7 August-Friday 10 August 2012. Parents keep this week free for your underage players! Demand is usually very high for this camp and places are limited. Don’t delay. Contact any underage committee member for further details. Quiz Night: Thanks to all club patrons who supported our quiz night. A great night was had by all, with a controversial last round designed to, ahem, maintain interest. There were also allegations of corruption among the correctors, who have strenuously denied any wrong-doing. The tribunal will uncover the truth!
