Dangerous activities at Railway station

Children have been observed at the Railway Station and on the rail tracks at Monasterevin throwing stones at trains and at Irish Rail employees. This is a very dangerous and Monasterevin Gardai are appealing to parents to be aware where their chiildren are at all times.

Presentation Sisters on Mission

Four sisters are going on a mission to Palestine later this month.To mark the occasion a Mission Mass will be in St Peter & Pauls Church Monasterevin on Wednesday 18 April at 7.30pm. After Mass light refreshments will be served in the Day Care Centre.

Cancer Collection

Irish Cancer Society will be holding a Church gate collection on Saturday 21 & Sunday 22 April at Monasterevin Parish Church at all Masses.Please support.

Charity Drive

Charity Drive in aid of the Oncology Unit Tallaght Hospital. Calling all Classic and Vintage owners of cars and motorcycles. will be held on Sunday 29 April 2012. Assembling at The Lord Bagenal Hotel, Leighinbridge, Co Carlow from 9.00am,last car leaving at 10.30am. Donations of E20 per vehicle. Enteries will be taken on the morning of the run.This charity run is being organised by P.J.& Frances Mulhall, Cloney, Athy whose son is at present attending this unit in Tallaght Hospital for cancer treatment. Car winner

Extension to St Evins Cemetery-- A Public meeting will be held on Thursday 19 April at 8.00pm in the Hazel Hotel to discuss extension to St Evins Cemetery Monasterevin. Please come along and voice your opinion.

Venice of Ireland festival

Monasterevin Mile Run

Monasterevin Fitness Mile will take place on Sunday 6 May. RUN, JOG OR WALK. Finish times will be given .Registration after 12 noon Mass before the event. All over 18 years are encouraged to participate More details later.

Lions dances discontinued

Monasterevin Lions Club - Due to circumstances beyond the control of the club , which resulted in declining attendances at their weekly Dances in the Derby House Hotel, Kildare, it is with regret that the club have decided to discontinue these dances. The Lions Club wish to thnak the patrons who supported them over the last twenty three years.These dances have been the main sourse of income for the local charities and other organisations.

Our u16 girls played their second game in this years championship away to Millangan on Saturday week last. Those in attendance were served up a great game of football as both sides went at it right from the start and played the game at 100mph right to the finish. In the end it was the host who finished on top on a score off 8-11 to 6-09

Our u14 boys are through to the feile shield final after a great win in the semi final away to Ballyteague. Both sides served up a great game that was only decided in injury time where our boys prevailed on a score line off 5-07 to 2-15
