St. Mochua’s Historical Society Outing
The above society will not hold a meeting in June. Instead we will be travelling to Arigna Mines and King House both in Co. Roscommon for our first outing of the Summer on Saturday 9th June leaving Timahoe at 9.00a.m. It promises to be a very full and enjoyable day. We will have dinner in Carrick-on-Shannon on the way home. The cost will be in the region of €20 for bus and entrance fees plus the cost of food for the day. Results: U12 Girls League Na Fianna 4-4 Confey 4 – 2. Well done girls a great game of football played on a cold and windy evening. Underage training on Tuesdays at 6.30pm in Allenwood. Well done to Roisin Murphy, Nicole Carroll and Becky Donohoe who lined out with Kildare Ladies Team in the Aisling McGinn Cup against Meath in Batterstown on Monday. Kildare lost the game by 4 points. The two teams put on a fine display of football in spite of the horrendous weather conditions of driving rain and hailstones which lasted for the whole game. Kildare play Cork on May 20th, venue to be confirmed.

Hard luck to our fine Under16 team in the Div. 4 League Final in Hawkfield on Bank Holiday Monday on going down to a fine CuChulainn Gaels side. We wish Richard Price a speedy recovery from a serious shoulder injury picked up in this game. Our Under 12 team played a great game against Castlemitchel on Thursday last in trying weather conditions. Both teams are to be commended on their displays. Under 14 League starts up this Wednesday with a Home game vs. Naas at 7.15 p.m. 400 Club Raffle is in full swing and with only 2 weeks left to the Draw on May 27th. Football: The Senior Bs took on Rathangan at home on Tuesday May 8th with a very impressive win the final score was Allenwood 2-18 Rathangan 1-06.Best on the night were Morgan O’Callaghan, Eoin Smullen, Jason Martin, Shane Smullen, Niall Malone and Leon McCabe. We wish the Senior team and all involved the very best of luck in the first round of the championship on Sunday May 20th in Sallins at 3pm when they take on Maynooth. Championship Fixture: All roads lead to Kilcullen this Friday evening for the first round fixture against Castlemitchell. Throw-in at 7.30pm.
