Gardening with Jody Price
You are are specially invited to join Jody Price and Guests for an evening of discussion and tips on all matters relating to you and your garden on Friday April 13 in the Parish Centre at 7.30pm. There will be a vast array of items for sale on the night, plus refreshments and of course the customary raffle.
All proceeds are very kindly being donated to the Parish Twinning Fund and will bring the target of €30,000 that little bit closer. The Parish has raised €22,000 to date.

Women in history
Mary Cullen is a distinguished retired NUI Maynooth history lecturer, with a special interest in women in history. Mary will give a talk on “The Irish Women’s Suffrage Movement” in the Library on Thursday April 19 at 7.30pm. This talk is presented by the Leixlip History Group. Everyone is welcome to attend.
The Irish Blood Transfusion Service will be accepting blood donations at San Carlo Senior School, Confey on April 16 from 5-8.30pm.
According to the Census figures for 2011, released last week by the Central Statistics Office, the population of the Leixlip Electoral Area is now 15,597. This represents a 5.2 per cent increase since the last Census, taken in 2006. Overall the population of Co. Kildare has increased by 12.7 per cent in the same period.
Musical Theatre Workshop
Do you love to sing, dance and perform? If so the Community Library has just the workshop for you! Katie Carpenter will facilitate workshops each day from Tuesday April 10 to Friday April 13 from 12.45pm - 3pm each day. You must be aged between 8-12 years and be willing to practice each day at the times specified.

Support programme for children
Rainbows is a support programme for children grieving through death/separation/divorce or any other traumatic experience in their lives.
The Rainbows Programme has been running successfully in Leixlip for the past 6 years.

The Annual General Meeting of Leixlip Youth Premises Group Ltd will take place at 8pm on Monday April 16 at the Leixlip Youth and Community Centre, Newtown House, Captains Hill, Leixlip, Co. Kildare. This is a Public Meeting, so all are welcome to attend.
Kate Dagg from the local GAA Handball Club had a great win over Munster representative, Shannon Hennessey in a semi-final clash in Broadford, Limerick on Sunday 25th March. The final score was 21-2; 21-1. This win means that Kate goes forward to the All-Ireland U17 singles decider in Kilkenny on April 8.
The Leixlip Tennis Club is holding its Spring Doubles Competition at the club courts beside the Amenity Centre on Saturday April 21 and Saturday 28 with the finals at 3pm on April 28. Rent a hall
San Carlo Junior School, Confey has a hall which is used for a wide range of activities including drama, art, dancing, pilates etc.

Leixlip Library is showing a special collection of films during the coming months at their new film club.
The Classic Directors series was conceived to afford film enthusiasts the opportunity to see some of the more marginalised, underrated or forgotten films by some of Hollywood’s greatest and most revered directors.
After each film screening there is a 90-minute workshop, half of which is dedicated to critical analysis of the respective film just screened and the second half is given over to the career overview and discussion of that particular director. Traditional music practice
The local branch of Comhaltas Ceoltoirí Éireann organises Adult Slow Sessions for those learning traditional music every second Wednesday in the function room of the Ryevale Tavern. Improvers start at 8.30pm and players of Intermediate standard at 9pm. Check the website at www.cceleixlip.ie
