Castledermot Youth cafe is up and running on a Friday night for 6th class national school students from 6 to 7.45pm and for secondary school students from 8 to 9.45pm. Everything is running well with a great attendance from students and volunteers. Anyone wishing to join can come along at these times on a Friday night and join. Volunteers welcome as well.
The Barrow Valley Group of Painters, whose local members include Lauri Hennessy, John Doyle and Sally Ashmore, will be exhibiting their paintings during the Carlow Arts Festival Eigse, in the Town Hall Theatre, The Plaza, Haymarket, Carlow from Saturday June 9 to Sunday June 17 from 11 am to 6 pm daily. Entrance is via the town hall car park. All paintings are originals and are for sale at affordable prices. This is the group’s main annual exhibition in a totally new venue.
Sally Ashmore is also exhibiting in the Cathedral Parish Centre, College Street, Carlow during the Carlow Arts Festival Eigse from June 9 - 17th from 11 am to 6 pm daily. Best wishes to our local artists and to everyone in the group.

Completed Tidy Towns Garden Competition forms may be left at the post office by Friday June 8. If you have not yet entered you can pick up a form at the post office.

Cul Camp 2012
Cul Camp 2012 in Castledermot GAA will be held from July 23 - 27. There is a €5 reduction on last years price, €55 per child, €45 for 2nd child, and €40 for 3rd and subsequent children. The usual kit and bag will be supplied. For further information contact Aisling Thompson 0858429318.
Any men wishing to join a new Castledermot Tug-of-war team can call 087 2108318. Training takes place on Tuesday and Thursday nights at 8.30pm. It’s a great sport to take up and good way to get involved in a team. All men are welcome, no experience is necessary as professional trainers are involved.
Community services draw
Tickets are now on sale for the Community Services annual four monthly draw, the first of which will take place on Tuesday June 19 in the Community Centre. Tickets cost €5 per month or €20 for the four months and can be obtained from any committee member. There will be a prize for all paid members at the July meeting. All support appreciated.

There was no winner in the lotto held on Tuesday May 29. The numbers drawn were 12, 18, 23 and 24. The intermediate men have been drawn against Kill in round 2 of the intermediate championship. Date and time TBC. The juniors had two convincing wins recently over Allenwood and Round Towers.

A meeting regarding setting up a ladies soccer team in Castle Villa will be held in the clubhouse tomorrow (Wednesday) night at 8pm. This will just be an informal meeting to see where to go next with this, so come along to find out more, or call Alan on 086-1970080.
Castle Villa play host to Airtricity Premier League side Bohemians FC on Sunday June 17 at 12.30 pm. Come along to Mullarney Park to see the best of our national league take on your local side in a first for a KDFL club. This promises to be one of the most exciting days in the 43 year history of Castle Villa.
FAI Summer Soccer School
This fantastic event is again being held in Castle Villa’s Mullarney Park this year, with confirmed dates of July 16-20.
Training continues on Tuesday and Thursday nights at 7.30 in Mullarney Park, and all players, old and new are welcome. First team manager Liam Murphy, can be contacted on 086-8186350, and Reserve Team and over-35 team manager Damien Byrne can be contacted on 086-0888756.
Levitstown new Foroige club continues each Friday evenings from 7.30 to 9pm in Levitstown Community Centre. The club is open to all young people from twelve to eighteen years of age.

Inter church couples
An ecumenical service for inter church couples services will take place in Bolton Abbey on Wednesday June 20 at 7.30pm. This service is primarily for inter church couples but everyone is most welcome to attend.
Castledermot & Kinneagh Parish BBQ will not take place on June 16 as previously advertised. They are now organising a Table Quiz on July 13 in the Castle Inn pub, in Castledermot at 9pm.
