Picture Book Workshop

Congratulations to St. Laurence’s badminton club who became Leinster champions at grade 5 recently. They also won the south west Leinster cup a few weeks ago. The team are as follows, Oscar Malone (Captain) Clive Thomas, Paudraic Downey, Sean Conroy, Nicola Walsh Nolan, Alison Walsh Carty, Karina Walsh, Carol Walsh. Senior badminton takes place on Tuesday and Friday nights 8-10pm and junior badminton on Saturday mornings 10-12. New members welcome.

To celebrate the 30th Festival of Arts this June The Milltown singers and friends are hosting Showboat on the river in Milltown. To fund the production of this musical a raffle will take place on May 11th in Rathsallagh Golf Club.Prizes for the raffle are 1st A painting by local artist Shay O’ Byrne, 2nd A painting by Geraldine Donohoe, 3rd Sunday Lunch in Rathsallagh House for 4, 4thHamper of local produce, 5th OPW Heritage Card, 6th 4 Green Fees for Rathsallagh Golf club. Sympathy is extended to the family of Kit Daynes, Rathsallagh who died in Baltinglass Hospital last week. Kit who was 88 is mourned by brother Tom (Canada) sisters in law Kay (Canada) Bridget (Dunlavin) and many nieces and nephews. Kit who was a former district nurse wan buried in Dunlavin following 11am Mass on Tuesday April 24th. Celebrant was Rev Douglas Malone. May she rest in peace.

As part of this year’s “Spring Clean “ the committee are organising the cleaning of several areas in the town on Saturday May 19th 2012 from9.30am to 11.30am.If you are aware of any particular area that requires attention please contact some of the committee. The committee are inviting residents to give an hour or two to help in this voluntary effort to make the town look its best. Gloves and rubbish bags will be provided on the day. Meeting point will be the monument on the Fair Green.
The annual raffle will take place on Saturday June 2nd in the Imaal Hall. There will be 10 prizes of €150, €75, and €50. your support would be appreciated. All funds raised will go back into improving our town.

County Wicklow Partnership are offering a free course to help you with your research. The Course entitled “ Researching your local area” will take place in Aughrim on Wednesday evenings and Annamoe on Saturday mornings. The death took place last week of Rosaleen Quinn (Nee Dunne Merginstown) .Rosaleen died suddenly in Portmarnock. Sympathy is extended to her family, may she rest in peace.
Jonathan Swift National School

Used Postage Stamps
Please keep you used postage stamps from your Christmas cards for St Patrick’s Missions Kiltegan who can use them to fundraise. Used stamps can be dropped into the parish office anytime. Thanks to all who have donated stamps over the past years.

Bingo takes place in the Imaal Hall every Saturday night at 9pm. The funds raised by the Bingo goes towards the upkeep of the Imaal Hall and well worth supporting.

Dunlavin library opening hours are as follows Tuesday 6.30pm to 8.30pm, Wednesday 3pm – 5pm and 6.30 –8.30pm, Friday 11am –1pm and 3pm to 5pm, Saturday 11am -1pm. Closed on the Saturdays of Bank Holiday weekends.
