Annual Fund Raising Auction
Ard Scoil Rath Iomghain Parents Association’s Annual Auction, which by now has assumed iconic dimensions takes place this year on Sunday 27th May, indoors in the school Gym.
They are asking us to donate unwanted but useful goods in good condition for sale. In the last few years the quality of goods on offer has improved which has made the Auction a very popular event. They are sorry they cannot except white goods or electronic equipment, which do not sell and cost a lot to dispose of later. Items can left in to the school on Friday 25th
May from 6 to 10pm or Saturday 26th from 10am to 5pm or to arrange collection, contact Carmel Carter at 045 524222, Therese Ring at 086 3076066 or Jack O’Connell 087 2551578, or Leo Conway at the Cycle Shop ph 087 2280865.
Tidy Towns Meeting
The Tidy Town Development Plan for the next 5 years, will be presented at a meeting in the Old School House on tomorrow night Wednesday May 2nd at 8pm. The Plan will set
targets and projects which hopefully will help us achieve national honours in the Tidy Town Competition but will certainly make Rathangan an ever more pleasant place to live. All interested people welcome. In the meantime the Tus Workers are making great strides painting and general tidying up and do not forget if you could put a bit of loose change in the
collection boxes in all local shops and pubs.
Rathangan Senior girls have now clocked up two wins in the league. Training continues each Tue and Thursday nights at 7.30 and new members are always welcome. The Minor Final date not yet confirmed. The U/16 final is scheduled for Sat 5th May - we wish both teams the very best of luck in their respective finals. Saturday morning training is ongoing commencing at 10 o’clock. This is for the ages 8 - 12 year olds. Large numbers are turning out each Saturday morning, the committee are asking for some extra volunteers to help out. Please give your name to one of the committee members.
