Monasterevin Community Facilities Group

Update: Before Christmas the MCFG group applied to the Kildare LEADER partnership for a grant to help try progress the facilities projects.

The grant came through on the 28/03/2012 and we appointed Padraig Doyle as facilitator.

The group met on 5/4/2012 to review the position particularly in the light of changes in the various Grant schemes.

A Sports Capital Grants of €30 million which can give up to €300,000 for local projects with large grants available for regional projects was recently announced. It has a very tight deadline around which clarification is being sought.

In addition the maximum grant which LEADER is allowed make at present to suitable qualifying projects was lowered from €500,000 to €200,000.

The committee of the MCFG met on Wednesday 11/4/2012 and appointed a working group to examine the feasibility of progressing the two projects. That group will have a number of meetings over the next few weeks before reporting back to the committee.

The group will endeavour to keep the community informed of the outcome of the process.
