Local Talent to the Fore

In recent weeks local audiences have seen stunning performances of ‘Beauty and the Beast’ from Newbridge Musical Society, a truly memorable production of ‘The Good father’ from Droichead Nua Players (who are now in the All Ireland Final in Shercock, Co. Cavan )and audiences can now look forward to another mouth-watering treat as Prosperous drama group are in preparation for the RTE All Ireland finals in Athlone next month, are bringing “DEADLINE!” by Robert Massey, home to Prosperous for a three night run on the 27, 28, and 29 at 8.30 pm. Essay Competition To Win New Laptop

A Go Racing Kids Club for primary schools in the Parish will take place at the Curragh racecourse prior to the community race day on Monday 7 may. All participants will be asked to write as essay following their visit with the best essays receiving prizes from Newbridge Credit Union including a brand new lap top computer for the overall winner.

 Roseberry/Tankardsgarden Association

The annual roadside clean-up will take place on Monday 30 April at 6.30pm. All residents are encouraged to help clean up litter from the roadside verges. Bags and gloves will be available. Tractor/trailer will start from Paddy O’Grady’s yard at 6.30pm or you can join in along the route. Your support and help is most welcome.


Carers Meet

The Carers Association will hold their Newbridge support group meeting on Thursday, the 26 April form 11am to1 pm in The Carers Association, C/O ARAS, Main street Newbridge.

Great to see that the landmark premises known for generations as Eddie O’Connor’s which recently closed is to reopen as a convenience store once again, under the Daybreak franchise.

To the appearance of the County Library building with the different colours and the plastering which was never painted. Also for those who leave poster ties and sticking tape on lamp posts, walls and windows of vacant premises, around town following notice of events, protests, etc.

Dara Park Classes
