Choral Festival

After the very successful run of the John B.Keane play ‘Big Maggie’ directed by Sadie O’Reilly the members of the society are back rehearsing for the AIMS (Association Irish Musical Societies) choral festival. The choral festival will be held in New Ross on 20th May and Martin Fahy a member of the society is preparing the group for the event. Clane Musical Society would like to thank those who supported ‘Big Maggie’ and as promised the audiences were well entertained. Thanks also to those who supported our annual cake and plant sale.

Zumba for Childline

Zumbathon Event in aid of Childine ISPCC. Saturday 28th April 7.30pm -9.30pm @ Clane GAA Hall. Join us for a 2 hour high energy Zumba Fitness PARTY to support Childline ISPCC. Bingo is on every Tuesday night @ 8.30pm in Clane GAA. The Jackpot is starting @ €1,500 and there will also be many Cash Prizes each week. All Welcome!

Clane Festival

A celebration of Music will take place in the Moat Theatre, Naas on Friday 11th May at 8pm. All the artists on the Tír Na NÓg Cd (just recently launched) will take part on the night. Call 086-0619086.

Clane GAA

A variety play night in conjunction with the Boys School, Girls School and Clane GAA took place on Fri 20th April in the club. It was a great night and many thanks to the Abbey Players Group. All Club members are reminded that membership is now due for 2012. The following rates apply: Full Playing Membership €80, Full Membership €70, Family Membership €120, Juvenile €50, Social €35, Student/Apprentice €50. Remember if you are a player and have not paid by 31st March, you will not be covered by insurance. New members always welcome. Need new playing gear for the start of the season: Club merchandise is available in the club shop on Thursday nights from 8pm & Saturday mornings from 11.30am. 10% discount on regular stock along with many special offers including some stock been sold at half price. Gift vouchers also available. Underage football & hurling training has resumed for both boys & girls. The Tiny Tots football is in the Scoil Mhuire Community School Hall on Sat 4th February at 10.30am and will continue every Saturday morning whilst the underage hurling is up in Clongowes on a Wednesday night - All new players are welcome to come down. Our club website and Facebook page is up and running so please feel free to visit and for latest news, results and updates. Finally, all our juvenile football & hurling teams are competing in the North Board leagues which commenced a few weeks ago. All the teams are giving a great account of themselves. We would encourage all the managers to send us in match reports as we cannot cover all games – the players would love to see their names in the papers etc.
