CHARITY VINTAGE RUN
There will be a fundraising Charity Vintage Run in aid of Jonathan Mulhall Trust with 100 vehicles travelling 100Km on Saturday week May 5 from Narraghmore to Enniscorthy. On Sunday May 6 the return journey back to Narraghmore will take place. Camping facilities available in Enniscorthy. All welcome. GRIESE YOUTH THEATRE
Griese Youth Theatre members directed and performed in a Collection Of Plays on March 2nd, 3rd and 4th . The plays were part of NAYD NEW STAGE Programme. The National Association for Youth Drama (NAYD) is the development organisation for youth theatre/drama in Ireland. Amongst the many activities and resources it provides for its member youth theatre’s is New Stage.
In 2008 NAYD launched a major new writing initiative for Irish Youth Theatre called New Stage. NAYD commissioned acclaimed writers to create work that is interesting and relevant to young people. Since 2008 the focus has shifted from specially commissioned plays to work that has been already created by youth theatre.
Three of the plays presented by GYT were originally written and staged as part of TENDERFOOT in the Civic Theatre Tallaght. That Night was written by Griese Youth Theatre member Kim Molloy.
‘Trapped by Fear’ was written by Aisling O’ Leary and Directed by Katie Byrne and the Cast included Mary Woods, David Kelly, and Darragh Donovan.
“Park Bench” was written by Ellen O’ Sullivan and Directed by Jessie Barrett. The cast included Rosemarie Gibbons, Aoife Gorman, and Matthew Forrest.
“Strike” was written by Alison Bryan, Directed by Keane Minahan. The Cast included Thomas McAleer, Eoghan Murphy, and Jacob Tallon.
“That Night” written by Kim Molloy and Directed by Kim Molloy. The Cast included Katie Byrne, Niamh Byrne, Emma Gallagher, Keane Minahan, David Kelly, Thomas McAleer, Jacob Tallon, and Ferga O’ Connell.

Griese Youth Theatre will perform in ‘It Only Ever Happens in the Movies’ (NAYD New Stage Project) on Thursday June 29th in the Riverbank Arts Centre Newbridge.
Sympathy is extended to Jim and Eugene on the death of their brother Joe who died in England recently and was interred in Moone Cemetery. May he rest in peace.
Congratulations to Jim Byrne who celebrated his 70th birthday and received a Lotto ticket as a gift, which had the winning numbers. This was indeed a wonderful unexpected birthday gift for Jim.

Elaine Clifford PRO reports “The membership rates for 2012 are as follows €50 per person, €25 per student/OAP, €80 per couple and €100 per family. New members welcome.
The Senior B’s won their third league game against Celbridge. The Senior C team lost their third league game against Round Towers. The senior team won their third league game against Rathangan.
Underage training takes place in Oldgrange on a Wednesday night between 7pm-8pm and on Saturday Mornings between 11am-12pm.
This week’s lotto numbers were 2, 19 and 32 .There was no jackpot winner; next week’s jackpot is €3,200. The €20 winners were Kevin Naud, Lisa Fenin, Rosie Swaine, Anna Miley and Ollie Lambe. Tickets are €2 and are available to buy from the clubhouse, all local pubs and individual sellers.
There will be a Teenage disco held in St. Laurence’s Complex on Friday 4th May between 8pm and 11pm. This event is for first and second year students only. Tickets are €10 and are available on reception in the clubhouse Monday to Friday 6pm to 8.30pm. This event will be supervised and a mineral bar only.
Gym Membership for 2012 is student/over 55’s/ unemployed €100, single €150 and €250. Direct debit options are available. There are circuit classes held every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 9.30am for advances and 10.15am for beginners. They are also held on Wednesday evenings at 7.10pm to 7.55pm. Classes are 45 minutes and are €4 per person and free to gym members. The gym opening hours are Monday, Wednesday and Friday 9-12am and 5.30-10.30pm, Tuesday and Thursday 5.30-10.30pm and Saturday and Sunday 6-9pm

Marion Griffith PRO for the Underage reports “Southboard Go-Games are now underway for U/12’s down to U/8’s. First to get started were the U/10’s both away to Round Towers on Tuesday the 17th April. Despite the wind and cold both Larries teams played very well. Round Towers put up a great performance again them, Stephen Kavanagh, Ian Fleming and Jordan Herterich for the Red team played a good game while Con Kileen, Jack Whelan and David Downey played a brilliant game in the Amber team.
The U/12’s had their first games on Thursday 19th, and were at home against Eadestown and U/12’s Amber team were against Athy, the Red team were away to Moorefield. Great games by all three teams. Best for Laurence’s Amber were Cameron Corcoran, Eoin Mason and Craig Morgan, best for the Red team were Felix Lawlor, Mikey Cassidy & Oran Foley.

RATHVILLY GARDEN AND FLOWER CLUB
Marie Corcoran PRO reminds us that the Rathvilly Garden and Flower Club will meet to-morrow Wednesday April 25 at 8pm in St’ Patrick’s Sports and Community Centre, Rathvilly. This month’s talk will be on Gardening by Fr. Gahan, who is an expert on every aspect of gardening, so this will enjoyed by all with an interest in gardening, whether just starting out or an established Gardner. Gabrielle Aspell, PRO reports “We held our 25th Annual Open Sports on Sunday 15th April, it was a beautiful day and we had a great turnout. Our new Discuss/Hammer Cage was getting its first official usage and it proved very popular with competitions from U/14 to Junior level, the standard of throwing was excellent and with this new facility and our Coach Ian Weir on hand this should only improve.
The athletics programme ranged from U/8 to Junior and again we had some super displays and very tough competition with quiet a few hard calls for the judges. We would like to thank all our sponsors and all clubs who turned out to support this annual event and we hope to see you all again next year. Training continues on Mondays from 6.30 - 7.30 for little athletics and 7-8pm for competing athletes on Monday and Wednesday.

CAR BOOT SALE
The next Car boot Sale will take place in the Hall in Knockananna on Sunday 29th of April. The Hall will be open from 9am so that people can setup and then usually the buyers turn up around 10am. A pitch costs €10 and if you need a table you will need to come early as tables are limited. This is a great way of getting rid of your unwanted items and making a few Euro, and buyers have an opportunity to pick up a pre loved bargain.
