Dermot Breen, PRO reports “St. Laurence’s Camogie Club was saddened to hear of the death of our Club President Peg Deay. On behalf of the officers and members of the club we wish her family our sincere sympathy and condolences. Ar dheis De go raibh a hanam.
Our seniors suffered their first defeat in the Kildare Camogie when the travelled to Johnstown Bridge last Monday to take on the reigning League and Co Champions but after a fine performance suffered a five point defeat. While this defeat and results elsewhere mean that we cannot now qualify for the League Cup Final with only the last round matches to be played we are almost certain to be contesting the final stages of the League Shield. Considering that we were missing some of our first team players the girls put up a strong performance especially in the second half that bodes well for the future. Well done again to the younger players who are experiencing their first year in the senior ranks who have acquitted themselves so well throughout the League. We can now look forward to the Championship with renewed confidence.
