‘On your Bike’ for Raheens GAA

A Cycle Rally will take place on the 9th June to Kilkenny in aid of the underage football setup. We would like to thank everyone who has signed up for the cycle to date. So far we have 120 people heading to Kilkenny on the day. We would ask everybody in the community to help the cyclists with their fundraising cards. Prosperous Music Festival

Official opening of Prosperous Music festival Office on Saturday 26th May at 2.30pm.

The Mayor of Kildare “Spike Nolan” will perform the opening ceremony. There will be a street collection and music on the day. All welcome. Car boot sale date to be finalised. Watch out for the signs!

We will be running another night of music for fundraising after the success of the last one we did. There will be various local acts playing in all the pubs on the same night. Date to be finalised! All details on our website and on our face book page. The committee are looking for volunteers/stewards for the weekend of the festival August 24th – 26th If you would like to help out please phone or text Ger on 085-1467034 or Mick on 087-6195991. The festival is shaping up to be a weekend to remember. The Committee would like to thank everyone for their support.

Lotto Results: 13th May 2012: 7 - 13 - 16 – 21. No Winner, although one unlucky punter was just one number away from winning the jackpot.

One lucky Prosperous man won over €10,000 when the jackpot was scooped last year, a handsome prize by any standards.

Eire Og Corra Choill A/C

Congratulations and well done to all our athletes who competed at the Kildare Track & Field Championships Day 1 held last weekend in Leixlip. The Club had great success with Annie Roche winning our first gold medal of the Championships in the Girls U9 Long Jump. We had three silvers medals with Amy Flemming High Jump, Jack Hamill Long Jump and Grace Casey Shot Putt. Annie Roche also won a bronze medal in the 100m sprint. Jude Kehoe won a silver medal in the Boys U9 Ball throw. These athletes will represent our club and County at the Leinster Championships to be held in June. Training continues every Wednesday & Friday night at 7pm. New members are always welcome.

Prosperous AFC News

Congratulations to the under 12 team who won their shield final against an excellent Edenderry team.

Hard luck to our Under 13 team who after putting up a great fight were beaten in their shield final by Kilcock.

Thank you to everyone who supported our Disco, it was a great success and fun was had by all. We are holding a fun day / blitz on Saturday the 26th of May at our home grounds. Everyone is welcome to attend and join in the fun.

HSE Community Games

HSE Community Games Track & Field qualifications event will be held in St. Farnan’s School Grounds on Sunday 27th May. Registration at 2.30pm. Children U16 interested in Pitch & Putt please contact Una O’connor on 086-8595855.
