Scouts to return
The meeting on May 10th to assess the support for a possible return of Scouting to Rathangan was a fantastic success with a 170 children registered. Over the Summer the detailed organisation will be carried out and it is planned to re launch the Scouts in October. Watch this space for more information.
The annual fund raising Auction and Sale in aid of Ard Scoil Rath Iomghain Parents Association takes place on Sunday next May 27th commencing 1.30pm. It will be open for viewing and late entries from 11am. You can bring in your unwanted but good condition useful items on this Friday May 25th from 6 to 10pm and on Saturday 26th from 10am to 5pm or contact Carmel Carter at 045 524222, Therese Ring at 086 3076066, Jack O’Connell at 087 9551578 or Leo Conway at The Cycle Shop at 087 2280865 if you need any large items to be collected.
To celebrate National Biodiversity Week Rathangan Tidy Towns Group are organising a walk in Tannery Park on tomorrow Wednesday May 23rd at 7pm. The walk will take participants through the Park identifying the variety of life both aquatic and land species found in the area and a ‘hands on’ identification of fresh water invertebrate and land invertebrate as well as identifying the variety of wild flora in the Park. All welcome.
