Aoife qualified for her sprint final and ran a great race to finish 3rd. Lauren also qualified for the sprint final but was unlucky to finish outside of the medals, likewise in the 600m. Congratulations to St. Laurence’s/Athy girls who won the U/16 Division 2 League Cup beating Clane 4-4 to 0-0 in the final in Eire Og on Sunday 13 th May. Athy/St.Laurence’s played with a strong swirling wind in the first half and had many chances but led by 2-4 to 0-0 at half time. Having the wind in the second half a strong Clane challenge was expected but it never materialised as Athy/St.Laurence’s continued to dominate with Abbey Monaghan providing a supply of balls for the forwards. Sinead Miley was moved from the backs to the forwards and put the result beyond any doubt with two brilliant goals.

There were good displays all round especially Erica Dempsey, Laura Bowden, Cheyanne Holmes and Dervla Byrne.
