Grangenolvin GFC

U/16 Grange - Nurney 1:2 Grange 5:12. Grange U/16’s were in flying form again on Saturday March 3rd when they met Nurney away for what turned out to be a free for all when it came to goal and point scoring. Luke Thornton started the evenings proceeding when he scored a 1st minute point nearly before the side line knew the match had begun and then went on to score a further 3 points and 2 goals including a wonderful goal in the dying minutes of the game. While Nurney struggled to find the posts not scoring until the 22nd minute of the game the same could not be said for the opposition with a steady flow of points from Ross Dooley and Ollie Dixon finding the back of the net in the first half and a point in the second half that would remind many senior players that a simple fist pass is often all it takes to get the job done. Throughout the game Nurney did get the chance to get to the goal but only got a solitary ball in the net as substitute keeper James Daley done the team proud making some inspired saves.

U/14‘s - Grangenolvin V Carragh - Grange 6:14 Carragh 4:3

This was a game between two teams that some would say were quite equally matched but on the day Grange showed in force and although there was times when it was close the home side done enough to secure a solid win. Jamie Cullen and Killian Bergin took control of the mid field while David Lambe as always is a reliable presence in the forward line with new comer Dean Murphy feeding the ball in with ease. This Grange team are in flying form and if they continue playing to form could prove to be a dynamic force for the rest of the year.
