A Newbridge mum and the former Commerical Manager of Newbridge Greyhound Stadium was in the running last week to be named TV3’s most glamorous mother.

Anne Channon got down to the final five in the Ireland AM search for Ireland’s most glamorous mum and although she did not take home the crown it was the taking part that mattered.

“I’m delighted,” said Anne. “It was a big surprise as my daughter, Shauna, put my name forward.”

Anne, who was the manager of Newbridge Greyhound Stadium for nine years, has described the competiton as a “nice distraction” since the Stadium closed down last weekend.

“It is a nice distraction and I’m now in the process of setting up my own hat making business called Channon Millinery,” she said.

“I’m going into the millinery business although the greyhounds are my first love. I trained in the Irish School of Millinery and in London. Hats were always my thing but I will really miss working at the Stadium. I’m there a long time and I was brought up with greyhounds but you never know what is around the corner.”

Anne is married to Eddie and they have three children – Shauna 19, Eddie 18 and Carrie 13. The competition was to find, not only a beautiful Mum, but also one who is positive, and busy but yet manages to look and feel great. The lucky winner received a E1000 gift card worth of skin care treats.
