The Camogie Club are running a Table Quiz in Molly O’Looney’s, Narraghmore, on Friday next 22nd March. Everyone welcome, the Camogie Club needs your support.


A race night with a difference a “TROY” race night will take place at St Laurence’s GAA Complex on Saturday 30th March. Lots of fun guaranteed on the night at the Ladies v’s the Lads !!! Starting at 8.00pm until late. €10 per horse. Contact any member of the senior ladies or mens teams for horses or sponsorship.


The monthly meeting of S.K.A.R.A. will be held in Moone Hall at 7.45pm on Thursday next March 21st. Please note change of date. This will be the AGM and all are most welcome. There is no age restriction anymore, anyone can now join, and been a member entitles you to a 10% discount on your shopping at many different outlets, also discount on your home and car insurance. Following the AGM we will have some light refreshments and entertainment.


The death of Michelle Forde (nee Lord) late of Narraghmore and formerly of Artane, Dublin on Sunday March 10th caused much sadness. She died peacefully, after a long battle borne with grace and the utmost dignity, surrounded by her loving family. Michelle reposed at her family home on Monday from 7pm and in Jennings Funeral Home, Oscar Traynor Road, Coolock on Tuesday afternoon. Removal took place on Wednesday to The Church of St. John Vianney, Ardlea Road, Artane, Dublin, arriving for 11am funeral mass. Burial immediately afterwards in Balgriffin Cemetery.

Sympathy is extended to Michelle’s loving husband Colm, mother Carmel, sisters Sandra and Denise, brother Keith, brother-in-law Dave, sister-in-law Lianne, niece Sarah, nephews Ross and Ben, extended family neighbours and many friends. May Michelle rest in Peace.


The death occurred of Teresa Archbold (nee Mackey) of The Square, Ballytore on Friday March 8th. She reposed at her residence until removal at 11.30am to Mount Jerome Crematorium, Dublin for 1pm. Sympathy is extended sons Trevor, and Wynne daughter Orla, grandchildren, brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, extended family, relatives and friends. May Teresa rest in Peace.


Anne Wheeler, PRO reports “At U-14 level, St Laurence’s hosted the first round of qualifiers for the 2013 u-14 Feile Peile na nOg competition. This is the beginning of the selection process to nominate a team to represent Kildare at the Feile in June. It is being held in Derry this year. Three teams took part in this group, they being St Laurence’s, Athy and Confey. St Laurence’s were the winners on the day and now go through to a final qualifying competition on Monday March 24th. Best of luck to all the girls and their mentors John,Shane and Enda.”

This weekend saw the U-16 Ladies play their first league game of 2013. They lost to Sarfields away on Saturday. Four young ladies from this team are part of the county U/16 panel.

Also during this very arctic spell we are encountering, please do look in on your elderly neighbour or anyone living alone and check that they have heat and food, they might even welcome the chat.


Patricia Griffith PRO for Crookstown Millview Athletic Club reports “The great outdoor season is back at the track (Pike Bridge Narraghmore) for all athletes on Monday 25th March. Training Times are Mondays and Wednesdays 6:30-7:30 (little athletics) / 6:30-8:00 (older athletes). New members are very welcome to attend.

Don’t forget to tell friends and family about our fundraising Table Quiz, this Saturday 23rd March at 8:30pm in St Laurence’s GAA Club House. €40 Table of 4 adults and €20 table of 4 children. Marion Griffiths PRO reports “The U/16’s league and U/14’s Feile are well underway. The U/14’s were at home v Kilcock on Sunday 10th March. Best for Larries were Eoin Curley, martin Maloney, Sean McMullen and Michael Corrigan.

The U/6’s and U8’s league will be starting in the coming weeks and details of fixtures and times will be given at training. The underage section is currently circulating their Easter raffle cards and there are loads of yummy Easter eggs to be won!
