Kill Tidy Towns
Kill Tidy Towns held its Annual General Meeting on 12 March. The following officers were elected: Larry Byrne, chairman; Joan Kerr, secretary; Janet Carr, treasurer. New members are welcome to come on board to help out for the high season. Please call Larry Byrne, chairman, on 087 6427207.
Kill Fianna Fáil AGM
The AGM of Kill Fianna Fáil was held last Wednesday night in the GAA club and members gathered to discuss the upcoming Ard Fheis and more local matters, The committee thanked outgoing officers for the work they had done during the year, including Joe Gavin who has now stepped down as Secretary for work reasons after a year at the helm. A new committee was elected for the coming year consisting of Larry Byrne Chairman, Sean Farrell Secretary, Pat Reid as Honorary President, Michael Gavin as Membership Officer, Pat Gavin as Vice Chair, Rita Reid and Liam Kelly as Joint Treasurers.
Chairman Larry Byrne thanked the members and spoke about local issues including the need for speeding restrictions throughout the village “as cars race through the village every Friday evening”. Other matters discussed included the property tax, the recent closure of Kill Garda Station, budget cuts to child benefit and OAP allowances and other promises the government have broken since coming into office.
Local Area Representative, James Lawless, was nominated to run for the National Executive elections at the Ard Fheis and thanked the cumann for their support. New members are always welcome and meetings will be notified in Leader.
Ardclough Community Council
There will be a meeting of Ardclough Community Council on Wednesday March 20 at 8pm in Ardclough GAA. A guest speaker from Muintir na Tire will talk regarding converting ‘Old School’ for future community use, so it is important for all interested to attend.
Fine Gael AGM
The annual general meeting of the Gerard Sweetman Branch of Fine Gael will take place on Thursday March 21 in Kill GAA club at 8.30pm and all members are invited to attend. Nominations for positions must be returned to the Secretary by today, Tuesday March 19.
Kildare Diabetes Group
The first Kildare Diabetes Group commences in Lawlor’s Hotel Naas on Wednesday March 20 at 7.30pm.
This is a social group for people with Type1 diabetes to engage with others, enjoy outings, chat about eating habits and lifestyle and other matters concerning people living with type 1 diabetes. The group is run by people with Type1 diabetes. More meetings are to follow and all are welcome to join in.

All First Communion children with their parents/ guardians are invited to attend this Sunday’s 9.30am Mass in Ardclough or the 12.15pm Mass in Kill. The coordinating group of parents for Kill School will meet in the Parish Meeting Room this evening, Tuesday March 19, at 8pm and in Ardclough School at 8.45pm.
A meeting of the Liturgy Group in Kill will take place this evening, Tuesday March 19 at 8pm in the Parish Office. All members are asked to attend.

I Do Not Like Thee, Dr. Fell
Kill Musical and Dramatic Society present Bernard Farrell’s “I Do Not Like Thee, Dr.Fell” in the Church Hall, Kill on March 21 and 22 at 8pm and on March 23 at 8.30pm. Tickets are available at door on the night or from the Parish Office. They cost €10/€8 concession.
Fr. Liam Lawton concert
Fr. Liam Lawton will perform at the Moat Theatre, Naas, as part of his Easter Tour, on Tuesday April 23. Tickets are on sale from the theatre box office, telephone 045 883030.
Kill GAA lotto
There was no winner of the jackpot in the Kill GAA lotto draw on March 11. The winning numbers were 7, 8, 15 and 24. The €200 winners were Mary O’Donovan, T. Devine and Rose Kelly. The jackpot next week is €3,150.
Learn to play whist
If you would like to learn to play whist, Andy Kelly is offering free lessons for people of all ages in the Care of the Aged Centre, Naas every Sunday at 4pm.
