Newbridge Library is running a summer reading competition and if you’ve ever fancied yourself as a storyteller, here’s your chance to shine as part of the Summer Reading Challenge.

Top authors Jacqueline Wilson and Andy Stanton have both begun a short story written in their own fantastic style. However it is not finished and that is where the challenge comes in - all entrants have to finish the story to share the glory.

There are six prizes of E100 worth of fabulous books for each of the six authors’ categories while one overall winner will be chosen to scoop the top prize – a brand new laptop.

“We have all kinds of fun and games for the kids,” said Suzann Smith of Newbridge Library.

“Have a look at the Story Lab website (www.story-lab.org.uk) and come down to the library to collect your free pack.

“Story Lab is an amazing hi-tech place where children can invent and swap stories, and have plenty of fun. Children who sign up to Story Lab receive their own 3D lab model where they can keep track of their progress. As they read they collect stickers to give them a real sense of achievement as they work their way through the stages.” Entrants can submit their stories by 1 September next.
