Two Mile House National School celebrates year of success

TWO Mile House primary school have been achieving some success bout inside and outside the classroom.

Pupils at the school achieved an award of excellence in science and maths in the annual competition run by Discover Primary Science and Maths.

The school’s senior football team were successful in the county schools competition, Cumann na mBunscoil, winning a county title.

There has been a primary school in Two Mile House since 1797, the current school building was opened in 1959.

There are 249 children on the roll book from junior infants to sixth class and the efforts of the pupils and staff in other areas have been rewarded with the Green Flag and the Active Schools Flag. This year, the sixth class organised the recording of a CD, in conjunction with VITA Studios and Kildare County Enterprise Board.

Pupils also participated in the International Eucharistic Congress. Boys and girls football teams reached the Cumann na mBunscol finals at under 10 and under 11 and senior competitions. The school also takes part in many other interschools sports.
