Kildare Award Winners
Congratulations to the Bell family also on their inclusion as members of Spina Bifida & Hydrocephalus Ire Kildare Branch on winning an award at REHAB Kildare People of the Year Awards. Indeed, Julie Anne Bell featured on the slide and video shows on the night and also in the commemorative brochure. Parents Breda and Gerry do exceptional work with the group and it was a well deserved honour.
Also, congratulations to several local residents in BME who are volunteers with the Samaritans Newbridge & Kildare who were also acknowledged and received an award but who prefer to remain anonymous – so many worthy winners.
BME History Book
As Christmas time is fast approaching, the local Historical and Heritage Society would like to advertise a local publication “Ballymore Eustace - A Portrait of a Village”. It can be obtained from Mgt Pearse at 087 791 6993 or Claire Doyle at 045 864 152. The cost is €20 and would make an ideal gift to ex-Pats living abroad or indeed, locals who have ‘exiled’ to another county. It contains wonderful photograph and articles dating back to the late 1800s and early 1900s, with a superb quality finish.
Scoil Mhuire Calendar
The Parent’s Association have designed the first School Calendar comprising of 15 months, Oct 2012—Dec 2013 which includes photos of all classes and snapshots of school activities, including the school closing dates. This calendar will help fund a Sensory Garden and Room and is on sale from all teachers and any of the PA Committee members, cost €10. Simply send the money in an envelope with your child’s name on it and give it to your child’s teacher. Alternatively, they can be bought from the school office. The calendar would make an ideal Christmas gift to grandparents for family members living abroad, a touch of Ballymore brought to them courtesy of Scoil Mhuire and photographer Chris Dennison.
Special birthday greetings to local book reviewer Angie Ruane who had an unique way of celebrating a milestone birthday with friends – she took them on a five mile hike up and down Wicklow hills, to ensure they were all exhausted but hungry on returning to a meal in the Ballymore Inn. Best wishes to Angie.
