Handbag stolen and houses burgled in Naas

A handbag containing an estimated E400 in cash was stolen from a car in Naas, writes PAUL O’MEARA.

A handbag containing an estimated E400 in cash was stolen from a car in Naas, writes PAUL O’MEARA.

The incident took place after the owner parked the vehicle outside St. Corban’s Cemetery, Dublin Road.

A side window in the vehicle was broken during the incident which took place on Septemebr 15 between 2-2.30pm.

Two houses were broken into the Naas area . A quantity of jewellery was taken from a house at Cluainlara, Two Mile House, on September 15 at 9.35pm. The house was occupied at the time.

Two days later, at 9.10pm, a house at Tipper, Naas, was also broken into and jewellery as well as cash was stolen. It’s believed that entry was gained through a back window.

Gardai are also investigating three foiled shoplifting incident at the Tesco store in Monread, Naas. Tin foil-lined bags were used in a failed bid to elude detection by the store’s alarm system.
