A meeting of Edenderry Historical Society will take place on Friday, 22nd March in the Parish Centre, Edenderry at 6.45 pm. (please note change of time) followed by a lecture at 8.00 pm by Johh Feehan, “The Geology of the Edenderry area”.

Cake Sale for Lourdes Fund

A Cake Sale will be held after Mass on Saturday and Sunday, 23rd & 24th March at Edenderry Church. The proceeds will go towards helping a local person travel to Lourdes. Cakes, jams, tarts etc can be brought to the Parish Centre on Saturday from 4pm and before Mass on Sunday. All donations welcome. A raffle will take place after 12 noon Mass on Sunday.

Live Traditional Music

Members of Edenderry CCE will perform at Edenderry Library this Wednesday night, 20th March between 6pm and 8pm as part of Seachtain na Gaeilge. All are welcome. Edenderry Branch of Comhaltas Ceoltoiri Eireann are holding their next Seisiun in O’Donoghue’s lounge on this Thursday, 21st March. All are welcome.

Table Quiz

Ballyfore GAA Club are holding a Table Quiz in O’Donoghue’s Function Room on Thursday, 28th March at 8.30pm. All are welcome.

Tractor Run

A Tractor Run is taking place at Ticknevin on Sunday, 24th March commencing at Ticknevin Bridge at 12 noon and finishing at The Turn Inn, Derrinturn. After the event refreshments will be served at The Turn Inn where a draw will also be held during the evening. Entry fee per Tractor is €20. Ticknevin Community Group would greatly appreciate your support. Everyone is welcome.

Fr. Liam Lawton performing in Naas

Fr. Liam Lawton will be in concert at the Moat Theatre, Naas on Tuesday 23rd April. Tickets are on sale from the Theatre directly or phone 045- 883030.

Annual Easter Dawn Mass

The fifth Annual Easter Dawn Mass will take place on Easter Sunday Morning at 6am at the summit of Mount Leinster on the Blackstairs Mountains, Co. Carlow. This Gathering invites all for this special spiritual ceremony. People are encouraged to wrap up well in warm clothing and to bring hot drinks and snacks if necessary. Access to Mount Leinster by car can be gained via Corrabutt Gap (the Myshall side) and at Tom Duff (Borris side) before 4am. Summertime begins on Easter Sunday morning, so be sure to put your clocks forward 1 hour on Saturday night, or else you will miss the whole event!

Rape Crisis Centre looking for Support

Ladies, are you looking to get fit and have some fun all in the name of a good charity? The Leinster Rape Crisis Centre is looking for women to join and support them in the Flora Women’s Mini Marathon. The Marathon is taking place on Monday, 3rd June in aid of the Carlow and South Leinster Rape Crisis Centre. Edenderry GAA Club v Derry Rovers Soccer Club

A Big Fight Night is scheduled to take place at Edenderry GAA Grounds on Saturday, 30th March when members of Edendery GAA Club will do battle with members of the Edenderry Derry Rovers Soccer Club. Admission is €15 and the doors will open at 7pm. Taking part in this unusual boxing night will be; Colm Byrne, Gary Blong, Joe Murphy, Sean Moriarty, John Mason, Paul Hanlon, Trevor Ryan, Aaron O’Connell, Ross Mangan, James Coffey, Peter Manley, Colin McNamara and Michael Ennis.
