First Responders Scheme

The First Responders Group is now up and running. A Defibrillator is installed at the entrance to the Day Care Centre. In the event of an emergency call 999 for the ambulance service and then call one of the following local First Responder numbers 086 8529482, 086 8531629 or 086 7304940.

Scouts Investiture

Sunday December 2nd will be a ‘red letter day’ for the newly reformed Rathangan Scout Troop, when 90 Children (Beaver, Cubs and Scouts) and about 25 Leaders will be invested. at a ceremony in the Community Centre.

This is a great success story for the newly formed Troop.

The Scouts still have a huge waiting list of Children waiting to join and they hope in time to secure a larger Den to accommodate these extra numbers.

If anyone knows of a suitable premises, please contact any Scout Leader.

Arts & Craft Fair THIS sUNDAY

For that unique Christmas present, why not cast your eyes on the lovely selection of Craft items on sale at the Open Day Arts & Craft Fair at the Day Care Centre on this Sunday, November 25th.

Also on sale will be a range of home made produce to tempt the taste buds and a raffle for Christmas Hampers.

Tea, coffe and goddies will be served.

Admission and parking is free.

GAA AGM

Don’t forget Rathangan GAA hold their AGM on Friday week November 30th at 8pm at their Club House.

Community Fundraiser CHRISTMAS pARTY NIGHT

There will be a Christmas Party Night in the Tulip Restaurant on Saturday night December 1st.

There will be a buffet with ballad music from Ray Cox. Proceeds will be shared between the Community Centre Building Fund and the CORE Admin Office.

WINTER TO SPRING ART PROGRAMME at RATH STUDIO

The After School Art programme for 7 to 12 year, Term 2 at the Rath Studio begins on Monday December 3rd.

The three December Sessions will the sense of Christmas. Do you love to create?

If so, have fun creating your own artwork in a safe and creative environment.

Children will explore thoughtful ways to Draw, Paint, Collage, Weave and make 3D forms, while creating their own stories in Line, Colour, Shape, Texture and Form about friends, animals, nature, places and food.

All art materials are provided for eleven sessions from December to March.

All you need to bring is an old shirt and your imagination!

Adults: Why not bring out the artist in you and join us on Tuesday mornings from 10.00 to 12.00.

Develop a series of drawings and paintings on subjects that interest you.

Portfolio class:

A three-day portfolio workshop for those applying for art colleges in 2013 will be held on Sat Dec 15th, Jan 5th, 12th from 10.00 to 2.00.

One to one tuition and specialist workshops for small groups can be arranged in 2013.

Places are limited.

Small groups work together in a studio setting with Monica, an artist / art teacher. Rath Studio offers very reasonable rates.
