A former Newbridge bank manager turned artist Michael Hanrahan, who has been cruising around the world teaching watercolour painting, met Sir David Frost on the ‘Queen Elizabeth’ cruise liner last week writes Paula Campbell.

Micheal, whose work now hangs in the Royal collection of Queen Elizabeth at Buckingham Palace since he captured the Queen’s Royal visit to Ireland on canvass, met the man who has interviewed the last seven U.S. Presidents and the last seven British Prime Ministers and is most known for his interview with President Richard Nixon on the cruise liner and got to chat to him.

Michael joined the world cruise on March 24 last in Singapore, and travelled to Kaula Lumpur, Malaysia, Penang, Sri Lanka, Cochin and Mumbai in India, Dubai, Egypt and travelled up the Suez canal to Alexandria, then to Athens, Rome, Lisbon and back to Southampton.

“During the cruise I had the pleasure of meeting Sir David Frost,” he confirmed.
