Johnstown Road Sign
A call has been made to erect speed limit signs at the entrance to Johnstown (from the Naas direction).
Cllr. Fintan Brett told a Kildare County Council meeting that there are no speed limit signs along the route into Johnstown and added, “it needs to be addressed”.
The council’s Road Design Section is examining the issue.
Kill Community Alert
A very productive meeting was held in the Dew Drop last Tuesday night to react to the government’s decision to shut down Kill Garda Station. Niall Collins TD said the closures were unwarranted and saved only 2.5k per year whilst Newbridge man, Jim Brady, gave good advice on securing your home. Local FF rep, James Lawless, hosted the meeting and was very pleased with the turnout and outcomes agreed.
A Community Alert Scheme is to be setup in Kill following on from the meeting and people are invited to sign up. Names are being taken in McGreal’s pharmacy or people can contact James at 086 834 8869 to signup for the community alert scheme. Thanks to all involved.
