Rail UserS Group

NASRUG Spokesperson, James Lawless, met with Irish Rail management last week and the following items were agreed at the meeting: A second shelter for the Sallins side platform is needed and has been committed to by Irish Rail. The new 18.10 ex Heuston introduced with the recent timetable change will be upgraded from a 3 car train to a 6 car one from next week on. The pool of water at the Naas side exit will be fixed during the current construction works. Irish Rail will look at rolling out bike lockers for bike safety (like they have at some Dart stations); also the CCTV coverage will be extended around the curtilage of the station. Re the new Timetable ; The gap opened up between 8.16 and 8.50 am is causing a lot of people issues with a 35 minute break at rush hour especially affecting people with childcare arrangements geared around the old schedule. Anyone who is affected by this gap should send James a note giving the details and how they are affected. Irish Rail may look at this if they get enough grievances raised.
