Sarsfields GAA held their Annual Family Fun and Sports Day last Sunday 24 June at their Club grounds in Newbridge. This was the third consecutive year Sarsfields have ran their family field day, after the Club’s Dermot Earley Football Skills Academy coaches re-enacted the event after a long layoff.
“The Family Fun and Sports Day is a throwback to the field days of time past and has been extremely well received by the Club members and Newbridge community. young and old, members and non members made their way to Sarsfield park for an action packed day of fun and festivities in the June sunshine” said PRO Michael Byrne. “The event was bigger and better this year with more bouncy castles and slides, inflatable penalty shout out, pony rides, running races, Disney characters, live music, BBQ, cake sale, face painting, amusement rides and many other fun activities for everyone’s taste.” The Club’s Kildare footballers were also on hand to sign autographs and pose for pictures with their fans. The event demonstrated that community spirit is alive and well in Newbridge with a diverse representation from every part of the town.
