Clane Local History Group to Launch Volume

The Clane Local history Group will launch their Journal Volume 2 on Wednesday next, April 17th.

The launch will take place in the GAA Hall on the Prosperous Road at 08:00 pm.

The launch is open to anyone who wishes to attend. The journal sells for €5.00.

Great night had at Comhaltas Ceoltoiri Eireann

Great night had by all at our 2nd seisuin in Clane GAA, Many thanks to John Duffy who is spearheading the revival of nights of Ceol, Craic agus Caint and who kept the nights entertainment flowing.

Well done to all musicians, singers and dancers who attended and many thanks to all who travelled to make this night a success once again. It is great to see it gathering momentum and going from strength to strength.

A big thank you to Ray Gleeson and staff of GAA Clane for the wonderful hospitality and very welcoming refreshments. Much appreciated and a cead mile go raibh maith agaibh. Our next session will be on Friday 19th April and again all welcome back to Clane GAA.

Classes continue on Tuesdays evenings from 6.00 to 8.00 and seanos dancing in Clane GAA (upstairs) will continue for another two weeks 16th and 23rd April commencing at 8.30pm. Don’t forget the

upcoming Fleadh Ceol, which will be held in Leixlip from Wednesday 24th April to Sunday 28th April hosted by Craogh Bheartla Ui Fhlatharta. Plenty of entertainment lined up over the week with competitions running on Sunday Morning 28th April 2013.

Best of luck to the Scoil Mhuire Senior Hurlers who play Dublin side Scoil Catriona in the Leinster Final on Thursday 18th April at 2pm in Navan.

The team has several Clane stars on the team. After the successful underage disco, another date has now been announced for the next disco. The disco will take place on Friday 3rd May and tickets will go on sale in the next week in the club.

The Senior footballers remain unbeaten after overcoming Allenwood 2:12 to 0:09 and now play Carbury at home this coming Saturday at 6.30pm in Clane.

Kildare Diabetes Group is a support group for people with type 1 diabetes.

We meet once a

month to discuss our lifestyles, what works to achieve better control, eating habits, to organise days out, etc.

It is run by people with diabetes, who understand the challenges of having diabetes.

Our next meeting is on Wednesday, 17th of April, at 7.30pm in Lawlors Hotel, Naas.

All type 1 diabetics/parents of children with type 1 welcome to attend.
