Congratulations and Well done to Clara Rock who qualified for the All Ireland Schools Swimming Competition. Building works at the school are progressing well, block work is at roof level. Each class participated in the ‘Songschool’ workshop recently. The workshop focused on particular strands of music making eg composition, dynamics, pitch, rhythm etc. Many thanks to Peter Baxter who facilitated the workshop. Our Confirmation class will go on retreat to De La Salle Pastoral Centre, Castletown, Mountrath on Wednesday 6 February 2013. As part of our Green Flag programme we had a Water Conservation Workshop for 3rd to 6th class pupils. It was a great workshop which Michele Castiaux facilitated.

The Ballitore Bring and Buy poultry sale takes place at Long Avenue, Ballitore, Co Kildare on the 2nd Sunday of every month. A Vintage and Classic Vehicles Road Run is organised for Sunday 17th February in aid of the Blackditch Kildoon House Fire Fund rebuilding project. The Old Bog Road High Nelly Club, Suncroft Vintage Club, Kildoon Handball Club, and Kildoon and Nurney Gun Club are jointly organising the event. ALL VEHICLES are welcome on the day, everything
from tractors, cars, trucks, motorcycles, to bicycles...any age any condition, it doesn’t matter if it is in working order or just dragged freshthe cobwebs, dust if off and get the engines oiled and come along for a fun filled day for all to enjoy. Push off at 1.30 from Martins Pub, Kildoon with registration open from 12.30. Three routes are panned, Green route for bicycles with the option of a short route for families. Red route for tractors and blue route for cars and trucks. Road stewarding on the day at all road junctions to ensure the smooth flow of vehicles.
