There will be an Exhibition of Paper Craft by Maria Milan Corrigan in the Library from February 9-23.The official launch on Saturday February 9 at 3pm. Everyone is welcome.
Maria was born in Taindi, Taiwan where she studied art specialising in Chinese Painting and Pastels. She moved to Los Angeles and worked in jewellery making, aromatherapy and candle making. It was there she also found her love of creating art with paper – including Origami and Quilling. Maria has been living in Leixlip since 2011. The Exhibition free to view during library Open Door time.

The ICA Annual Valentine Cake Sale to raise fund for charitable causes will take place on Sunday February 10 in the Parish Centre after all Masses.
MID TERM EVENTS
The Library is organising some Mid-Term Break Events for Children.
Valentine’s Day Crafts with Sheila will be on Thursday February 14 from 2-3.15pm. This workshop will be suitable for children aged 7-10 years.
There will also be a Movie Matinee on Friday February 15 at 2.30pm. This is a surprise screening and the film will be suitable for children aged 5-12 years.
Under 7s must be accompanied by an adult. Places are limited so please book in advance at 01 6060050.
Leixlip Town Council will have its next meeting in Newtown House on Tuesday February 5, starting at 7pm. Among the issues on the agenda will be opposition to the abolition of town councils, local vandalism and the current closure of Kellystown Lane. Members of the public may attend the meeting.
There will be an Introduction to Yoga for the over 55s with Breda Tallon on Monday February 25 from 11.30am – 12.30pm in the Library. Breda will promote Hatha Yoga as an aspect of adult learning. Yoga incorporates overall correct use of mind, body and spirit. Participants should wear loose comfortable clothing.

Scoil Bhríde presents ‘Cinderella Rockerfella’ on Thursday February 7 and Friday 8 at 7.30pm in the School Hall. Tickets are now on sale in the school. Admission for adults is €10 and children €5.
NUIM Barnhall RFC is organising what they have entitled a 5km Gut Buster run/walk in aid of the Barnhall Minis on February 16. Starting out from the club headquarters at Parsonstown at 12 midday, the runners will set off into the grounds of Castletown House. All levels of fitness are welcome, but please be aware that conditions in February can make running a challenging and fairly muddy experience!
A meeting of the Leixlip Town Council Joint Policing Committee (JPC)

Dorothy Armstrong will give a presentation entitled “Transitioning to Main Stream Secondary School” on Thursday February 7 from 7-8.30pm in the Library. This will be specifically for parents and teachers and those who work with children who have special needs.
It is designed to show adults how to help primary school children with issues such as Dyspraxia, Asperger’s, ADHD / ADD prepare to transition to secondary school.
Admission is free of charge.
Leixlip Golden Years/Active Retirement Group meets in Our Lady’s Parish Centre on Wednesday mornings from 10 – 12. They have a large range of activities and new members are always welcome.
The Leixlip Town Twinning group’s Cluichí Speisialta, (LTCS) will host an international weekend of Special Games in Leixlip in August 2013 for people with disabilities.
The group urgently needs volunteers for refereeing, time keeping, catering, general security, designing posters, IT assistance stewarding and fund raising etc. All volunteers will be Garda vetted.
