Ballymore GAA are hosting a Variety Show at the superb theatre venue in Barretstown on December 7 and 8 and presents a wonderful opportunity to all musicians or singers to showcase their talents and raise a few bob for both organisations. Tickets on sale in Janet’s of Chapel Street; €20 family ticket - 2 adults and 2 children; €10 adult and €5 for kids and OAP. Briliant night promised, not to be missed!

Art Exhibition

Ballymore Eustace Art Group launched their annual exhibition in the Back Bar of The Ballymore Inn opening last week and continues until Friday this week. There’s some terrific talent on show so please, take a look, you can still buy one of the works – commission and proceeds from the opening night go towards our national school.

Senior Citizens Christmas Party

The annual Christmas party for local senior citizen’s will be held at Poulaphouca House Hotel on Sunday, 16 December –anyone interested in attending, please give your name to any of the Senior Citizen’s Association or simply give your name in at the Post Office. An annual event, it’s always a lively event with a full dinner served, music by Bren Hennessy and Mick Farrington plus a visit from San Nicholas himself!

Christmas Fair

A craft and cake sale will be held in the Resource Centre on Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 December in aid of the Church of the Immaculate Conception. The sale will be held after 7pm mass on Sat and after 10am on Sun. Lots of terrific raffle prizes and hampers to be won. Donations of cakes, unwanted Christmas Gifts, etc greatly appreciated.

GAA Thank You

Ballymore Eustace GAA would like to issue a general thank to all who supported their recent Craft Fair at Punchestown Racecourse. To date, the event has raised almost €7,000 in aid of the club’s pitch fund. Huge praise must go to the GAA ‘hands on’ volunteers who prepared and presented the exhibition centre – massive undertaking and shows the incredible dedication of the local GAA club to the community.

BME GAA AGM

The AGM of Ballymore Senior GFC has been rescheduled for Sunday, 16 December in the Resource Centre @ 5pm. All Welcome.

POY Awards

Would you like to nominate a local hero for Ballymore’s annual Person of the Year Award? Joe McGrath is the current POY recipient for his work with the TSAA and other local projects. There is a also a sports award, The Des Kennedy Memorial Trophy to be presented to a person of club for their sporting achievement in 2012.

You can put your nomination on paper and drop it into the Bugle box in Fogarty’s or Elizabeth’s Hair Salon on or before December 31. Alternatively, email or post your hero’s name to The Editor, Rose B O’Donoghue, Cois Ceallaigh, Ballymore Eustace.

Scoil Mhuire Invitation

Sixth class children at Scoil Mhuire would like to invite senior citizens, grand-parents et al to a tea and coffee morning in the school on Thursday 13 December at 9.45am. The event will be held in the main hall at Scoil Mhuire and is a wonderful initiative between younger and more elderly members of the community.

Vibe for Larry

Ballymore Gigs invites all to a “Vibe for Larry”, on Friday, December 14 at 8pm at Mick Murphy’s. The late Larry Roddy was a renowned agent in the music industry and secured venues for many international and national musicians in the traditional and blue grass genre, many in Ballymore Eustace. So music lovers, come and join the session on Friday 14 and share a toast in celebration of Larry. Declan Sinnott appears in Micks on Monday 10, a renowned guitarist who has produced music for Irish legends such as Christy Moore, and John Spillane to name but a few.

The Voice Squad in BME

Music Under the Mountains are presenting a concert by the Voice Squad in Poulaphuca House on December 7. This will be a memorable night of harmony singing; The Voice Squad are currently recording a new CD so the audience will be treated to a selection
of new songs as well as old favourites.

Flower Classes

Barretstown Christmas Appeal

Barretstown is delighted to introduce a new range of Christmas cards for Christmas,. Cards cost €6.99 for a pack of 8. Two of Ireland’s legendary bands, The Stunning and Something Happens, will perform a one off show live from Barretstown Castle on December, 20 Tickets, priced at €50, can be purchased by calling 1850 500 123.

Stonebrook Pet Farm

Located at Coughlanstown West, Ballymore Eustace, Stonebrook Pet Farm is hosting a SANTA Grotto and Live Nativity Scene in the magical setting of the farm. Meet Mrs Claus and all the elves - and some of your favourite pets and farm animals -
