Newbridge’s Community Games kids welcomed home

The Mayor of Kildare Micheal ‘Spike’ Nolan, Liam Keogh from Newbridge Credit Union and Deputy Mayor Damian Molyneaux welcomed home all the children and managers and congratulated them all on a fantastic weekend and thanked them for bringing such honour to the town.

Wayne Slattery of Sbarro Pizza Bar in the Whitewater provided Pizza and drinks to all the competitors and managers.

The weekend of August 18 and 19 was a fantastic weekend for both St Conleths and St Brigids and pride of place for the latter team has gone to eight year old Cian Leahy who took Gold in the boys under 10 Gymnastics for the third year in a row.

St Conleth’s was represented by the U16 Variety team who put in a fantastic performance in what was a most competiive competition and took the Bronze medals home. The team were a credit to manager Phil Jennings and to their parents and supporters.
