Kildare teams compete in All Ireland quiz

Macra National President Michael Gowing has commended the two Kildare Macra teams who last weekend took part in the national final of the Kerrygold Club Question Time competition.

Macra National President Michael Gowing has commended the two Kildare Macra teams who last weekend took part in the national final of the Kerrygold Club Question Time competition.

The event was held in the Ramada Hotel, Waterford with 30 Macra teams from all over the country competing for the prestigious title and a place on the Macra prize-winners trip.

Members of the winning team, William Murphy, Nuala Tully, Richard Manning and Noel Kenny of Treble R Macra in Dublin beat off stiff competition from second place Kilcloon Macra from Meath.

Mr Gowing said at the competition, “The Kerrygold Question Time competition is a great chance for members to test their general knowledge and meet new people. I’d like to thanks our sponsors, Kerrygold, for their support for a fun and challenging competition.”

This competition is intended to encourage members to improve their general knowledge. The All-Ireland final comprises over 100 questions on topics such as current affairs, sport, film, television and popular music.
