Tesco last week showcased a new initiative at some of its Kildare stores which is highlighting local suppliers.
As part of its ‘Homegrown in Ireland’ roadshow, which will take in 52 stores nationwide, it visited the Tesco in Kildare town on Thursday, May 31 and Tesco Extra Maynooth and Tesco Extra Naas the following day, as part of its campaign which aims to highlight the best seasonal, fresh and Irish products to customers.
It also aims to educate customers so that they understand Irish growing seasons, and when products are in season.
Cian O’Sullivan, Maynooth Extra Store Manager, said: “This is a great opportunity for shoppers to come down to our Kildare stores to taste the best in fresh Irish foods.”
Suppliers featured at the Kildare stores included ABP Food Group, Hilton Meats, Mulrine’s Juice, Kerry Foods, the Goodfish Company Ltd, The Scullery, Stapleton’s Bakery, Carton Brothers, Truly Irish, Bradys Family, Keelings, Country Crest, Paddy’s O’Granola, Kooky Dough and JOD Foods.
