Communications consultant Con McNamara has assumed his role of new president of Newbridge Chamber.

He took over the role from outgoing president David Wright at the recent AGM.

Mr Wright David thanked his hard working committee and all Chamber members large and small throughout Newbridge and district for their support over the past two years, while he was leading this active business group. He numbered among his highlights the establishment of Newbridge’s own B2B - a fortnightly business networking group without any of the high costs often associated with such groups. He wished Con well with his plans for the year ahead.

Mr McNamara, MD of Effects Based Communication and Recruitment, said he is looking forward to the organisation leading the successful roll out of large scale Newbridge 200 celebrations. This, he said, should deliver tens of millions of Euro worth of commercial benefit to the town, and increase civic and community pride.

The Chamber also plans to relocate to new offices in Newbridge Industrial Estate next year, which will contain much-needed incubator units and training facilities at the new site.
