The HP factory in Leixlip where around 93 new jobs have been announced.

AROUND 93 of 280 new jobs announced by Hewlett Packard last week are expected to be located at its Leixlip base, HP has confirmed.

The State body, the IDA, announced last week that it was supporting the recruitment of 150 research at Hewlett Packard (HP) at Galway and Leixlip.

HP said it plans to create up to 130 new technical and support roles as a result of this expansion.

A company spokesperson said around a third of the 280 jobs are at Leixlip.

Recruitment for these jobs will begin immediately.

New staff will work on a range of projects which will build, test and deploy large scale systems using the latest and emerging technologies such as cloud based infrastructures and multiple delivery channels (mobile, video, social media.
