Thursday 19th July last saw the conclusion of a free ten week course delivered by County Kildare LEADER partnership for people unemployed in the Rathangan area.

The course was devised in consultation with participants during a three day taster programme in April. Modules of the course included First Aid, Safe pass and manual handling.

A significant element of this programme was the inclusion of Kildare Local Employment Service Network (K.L.E.S.N) The K.L.E.S.N. provide a support service for unemployed people in County Kildare including Career guidance, Job Seeking Skills and information. They hope to continue a clinic for the people in Rathangan in the local community centre.
