Kildare County Council has sought more information on Nando’s proposed restaurant at the Whitewater Shopping Centre, Newbridge.

The local authority has asked the company to supply details on a grease separator, its size and location in the kitchen. It has also advised Nandos that if planning permission is approved, it will have to apply for an Effluent Discharge licence before work starts on the unit.

The company has up to six months to supply the information required.

Nandos have applied for permission for alterations to a previously approved application.

The alterations relate to the reconfigured Unit 36 and comprise internal changes to facilitate restaurant fit-out consisting of waiting area, kitchen, serving area, dining areas, freezer, cold and dry stores and disabled toilet. The plans also allow for the construction of a mezzanine level for customer toilets, staff facilities and a plant room.

If granted, the new shop front will have dark timber cladding and metal framed glazing, with fascia level signage fitted with LED lights.
