20 new jobs at Junction 14 service station
Donal and Liam Fitzpatrick who established the Spar Texaco Junction 14 service station are set to create 20 more jobs there in the next six months.
Just 12 months after it opened its doors, the Spar Texaco Junction 14 service station on the M7 near Monasterevin has announced a €500,000 expansion, which will create 20 new jobs.
The station was opened in June of 2011 by local businessmen Donal and Liam Fitzpatrick, and employs 100 people.
The expansion will cater for the HGV lorry drivers and is driven by a demand from that particular sector.
“It’s simply supply and demand,” a spokesperson said. “There are no similar dedicated services on that stretch of road.”
The station is open 24 hours a day and attracts approximately 3,500 customers a day. It has Spar, Supermacs and Insomnia brands.
The expansion is expected to double the capacity to cater for HGVs and should be up and running in six months.
The service station is unusual in the sense that it can be accessed by people not driving on the motorway, and was not built as part of the motorway infrastructure, but by private investors.
